Celebrating 22 Years of Outstanding Linguistics
This year, the Ph.D. program at the UC-Santa Cruz Department of Linguistics enters its twenty-second year of education, research, and scholarship. Over the years, the Department has awarded almost 40 Ph.D.'s and nearly 70 M.A.'s in Linguistics. In celebration of this milestone, the Linguistics Research Center at UCSC will host the UC Santa Cruz Linguistics Alumni Conference. This event will serve as the core of a weekend-long reunion for linguistics alumni in Santa Cruz and will showcase the research currently being pursued by graduates of the UCSC linguistics program. While the conference is part a celebration of the UC Santa Cruz linguistics department, anyone who is interested in attending is encouraged to come!
The Linguistics Alumni Conference will feature presentations by 18 graduates of the Ph.D. Program at UCSC, representing nearly every graduating class since the program's inception. A complete list of graduate alumni is available from the Department here. Many of the works to be presented are joint papers being given by several graduates, highlighting the collaborative nature of research at UCSC. More information on talks can be found in the Abstracts section.
