Emily Elfner, University of Massachusetts, Amherst,
visiting PhD student for Fall 2009, is interested in the interaction between syntax and prosody in Irish
Aaron Kaplan, PhD alumnus, UC Santa Cruz
is interested in Markedness Supression within Optimality Theory. [website]
Idan Landau, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel
is interested in the passive voice and derived predicates in adjunct control. [website]
Craig Martell, The Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California
is interested in computational linguistics, with research on how computational devices may model and simulate human natural language processing and understanding.
John Walsh, School of Irish, National University of Ireland, Galway,
teaching Ling 184, Structure of Irish, in Fall 2009 and is interested in language legislation, language policy and planning for Irish and other languages; language policy in Canada, Wales and Scotland; minority language media; language and socio-economic development.
